Welcome to Jay Cross' Fundraising Page!
I am joining Canadians coast-to-coast on June 4 in the Walk to Fight Arthritis. I am walking and raising funds to help find a cure and support the over 4.6 million Canadians who live with arthritis.
This is a new journey for me as I had lived most of my life pain free. That changed in 2012 when I developed debilitating pain in my legs and fatigue that went unexplained for a long time. It got worse from there. Finally in fall 2014, I was diagnosed with Ankylosing Spondylitis, something that I had never heard of. Medication helps but the pain is always there, putting a strain on my work and relationships. Keeping active is a key for me, both for my body and my mind. This Walk is a way to join others who have silent struggles that profoundly affect their lives every day.
By helping to raise funds you are supporting the next advancement in research, the next great treatments and the Society’s suite of pain management programs. The Society has been the largest non-government funder of arthritis research in Canada, investing over $195 million in projects that have led to breakthroughs in the diagnosis, treatment and care of people with arthritis.
There is no cure for arthritis but we need to work together to create a future with promise and hope.
Please join the movement and make a donation to support this important cause.
Thank you so much!
