Welcome to My Fundraising Page!
My name is Liam and I would like to tell you why I am participating in the Walk to Fight Arthritis. Someone near and dear to me has a condition that causes her pain. She lives through this pain every single day. There are days when getting out of bed is a challenge. She has good days, but don’t be mistaken, this does not mean she is not in pain. Those are the days her pain is more manageable. This incredibly strong person is my Aunt. She has had Rheumatoid Arthritis my whole life (and I’m almost 10). My whole life I have never once seen her let her condition get her down. When we have travelled to Kelowna to visit, she has always made sure our trip has been one to remember. There have been times where we haven’t been able to visit because she wasn’t feeling well enough to have visitors. I have been learning about Arthritis and I now understand how challenging daily activities can be for my Aunt. Simple things like writing a card can be difficult when her hands are sore. For my tenth birthday I am flying to Kelowna with my dad to participate in this important walk with my Aunt. The walk is to raise money for arthritis research. Recently, my Grandma has also been diagnosed with arthritis. When I visit I try to be helpful because I can see that Grandma has times when she looks like she’s in pain. I hope that one day there will be a cure for arthritis so that people like my aunt and my Grandma don’t need to live in pain anymore.
