There is no cure for arthritis – a painful and devastating disease - that is why I am participating in the Walk for Arthritis.
My name is Mya Healey and I was diagnosed with Juvenile Arthritis at age 2, I am now 11 years old. Each year myself, my little sister and my family take part in The Walk To Fight Arthritis in the hopes of creating a pain free tomorrow.
Every 6 weeks I travel 5 hours from my home for check ups and treatment for my Arthtiris. Plus, the daily medications that I have to take. These check ups, treatment & medications help me live a normal life. Without research and new medications I would not have The life I do now. It is important to me to help make sure children like me can live a pain free life.
Today, more than 6 million Canadians are affected by arthritis. These numbers are only going to increase. By 2035, 1 in 4 Canadians will have arthritis. That means you or your wife, your mother or your brother just may have arthritis.
I May have Arthritis, but it doesn’t have me!
Please join me & my sister Lily in supporting this important cause.
